As a devoted prepper among the things that I constantly think about is security. Whether that be whenever we are on trips or within an actual doomsday scenario and working to protect my family and food stores from those that are looking to take it from me
No matter what associated with I have had a few conversations with friends and family about security and the role of guns for protection and seem to be getting somewhat of a mixed response.
There are clearly two groups here, those that believe that in a situation where there is little if any government and order whenever a major emergency happens and those that think it may be bad for each day or two then all will be well.
AMMO SEEK is that if group two is right, group one only wasted money on guns and ammunition. However, if group one is right then group two is likely to become part of the problem because they are suddenly going to function as have nots in a global where they need to survive.

So as far as having protection whether that is clearly a gun, knife, stun gun or whatever it appears only logical to err privately of caution. Having a gun and ammo doesn't mean you are going to turn into a Harley ridin' tattoo covered gun slinger. It's just a tool that when needed it's too late unless you have it.
I am not advocating that everyone go purchase a gun so when they answer their door they have a loaded handgun, but having one just in case and knowing how to utilize it only makes common sense.
So in talking to friends and family the ones in group two appear to like to say many people are shot making use of their own gun. I don't dispute that because many people who've guns aren't prepared to use them or haven't taken the time to understand about their use after the initial purchase and maybe firing a bit at a range.
In real life in the event that you feel the need to pull out and aim your gun at someone a couple of things need to happen. One you should be sure that the problem you are facing demands the potential use of lethal force and two that you truly have the abilities and capability to proceed if that's needed. If you don't have those then you probably shouldn't have a gun and I'd recommend something less hazardous just like a stun gun.
Remember guns don't shoot people, people shoot people. If you use good judgement and are security conscience you may never need to use your gun, but should you choose need it, it'd be a bad time to be thinking "I will have bought a gun."
